These are grid cut jigsaws with interesting piece shapes.
As far as we know, this is the largest company in the world that is producing puzzles. They list about 8,000 different products and have over 1,500 employees albeit they sell many different games and crafts as well as puzzles.
As you might expect of a German company they pride themselves on quality and they very seldom disappoint. The individual pieces are stamped with such precision that Ravensburger have given it a name – the "Ravensburger Softclick Technology".
It is really good to see a company devoting so much time and effort to producing puzzles with unique shaped pieces that really do fit together extraordinarily well. For further details of their quality standards it is well worth reading their page at http://www.ravensburger.com/uk/puzzles/adult-puzzles/puzzle-quality/index.html.
They have a mind-boggling range of adult puzzles including many spectacular images in sizes ranging from 500 pieces to 32,000 pieces. They have a wonderful range of children's puzzles and let's not forget their What If's and their 3D Puzzles.
Those of you with an interest in the history of the jigsaw puzzle world might be interested to know that Jigthings have come into contact with Ravensburger on two notable occasions…
The first occasion was soon after the full product range of Jigthings had been developed. Colin secured an appointment with Ravensburger head office in Germany to present the products with a view to them becoming a distributor of Jigthings.
Colin travelled to Germany with the largest suitcase he could find crammed full of the entire product range. After lugging the suitcase to their headquarters in the depths of the German countryside they turned him down! The feeling was that the product was too high quality for Jigthings, Ravensburger and their retailers to all make a workable margin. In hindsight they were probably right.
The second occasion was when Ravensburger infringed the UK Trade Mark "Jigstore" owned by Jigthings and our patent attorneys locked swords with their patent attorneys. Ravensburger subsequently relented and named their new jigsaw storage product "Puzzle Store".
All is forgiven Ravensburger – we now have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending your jigsaw puzzles and commending you for the great work you do in constantly developing new themes.
