Thomas Kinkade is the most popular American artist of all time – it is estimated that one in every 20 American homes own a copy of his work. Small wonder then that his images appear on more puzzles than those from any other artist.
Kinkade is often referred to as “The Painter of Light” and his work is loved by millions of people throughout the world but inevitably he has his critics… His work has been variously described as commercially successful kitsch, deeply hideous and “Mall Art”! Here at Jigthings we have never heard of any of his critics but we most certainly have heard of Thomas Kinkade and we believe that the jigsaw world should be truly grateful for his existence.
Sadly Thomas died in April 2012 but we expect that puzzles featuring his work will be enjoyed and loved for generations to come. There are some puzzles below that feature his work and even with small scale pictures on a computer screen it’s not difficult to see that he really earns the title “Painter of Light”. On jigsaw puzzles the images are truly stunning.
