Jigsort comes complete with a soft but firm board on which to construct your jigsaw and sort trays on which to keep the unassembled pieces. A stylish carry case provides the means to easily pack away a part-completed puzzle whilst a fully stitched handle enables you to transport your jigsaws from room to room, house to house or even country to country!
To ensure that you get maximum enjoyment from your puzzle holder we recommend that
you give careful thought to the size that you require. Jigsort comes in three
different sizes as follows:
Jigsort 500: Jigsaw puzzle holder for 500 pieces.
For most jigsaws up to 500 pieces - 500mm x 395mm (20.5" x 15.5")
Jigsort 1000: Jigsaw puzzle holder for 1,000 pieces.
For most jigsaws up to 1,000 pieces - 750mm x 520mm (29.5" x 20.5")
Jigsort 1500: Jigsaw puzzle holder for 1,500 pieces.
For most jigsaws up to 1,500 pieces - 915mm x 660mm (36" x 26")
The most popular size of puzzle nowadays is 1,000 pieces and for this reason we
sell more of our 1,000 piece jigsaw cases than the other sizes. However, some of
our more elderly customers prefer the 500 piece size because it makes it easier
to do a puzzle on their knee without a table. Our younger and more agile
customers often go for the 1,500 size of puzzle kaddy because they know they
will fit virtually every puzzle that they choose to do.

All Jigsorts share the same attributes...... At the heart of each one is a rigid
Construction Board (a Jigboard) on which the puzzle is made. The board is
completely covered in a special soft fabric that makes it a joy to work with. It
can be placed on any table or shiny surface without the least fear of
scratching. The fabric covering keeps the pieces attached to the surface and
this, combined with a raised edge around the board, ensures that individual
pieces are never lost. The board can be completely lifted away from the case and placed on the Jigsaw Table or a Table whilst the puzzle is being made.
All of our jigsaw holders come complete with Sort Trays that have the same special
soft fabric on the inside. These trays are used for storing the non-assembled
pieces but they can also be used for constructing small sections for later
transfer to the main Construction Board. Each Sort Tray has its own lid to keep
the pieces in place when the puzzle is not being worked upon. Our jigsaw cases
for 500 pieces (Jigsort 500) have two made-to-measure Sort Trays whilst the
cases for 1,000 and 1,500 pieces (Jigsort 1000 and Jigsort 1500) each have four
made-to-measure Sort Trays.
Regardless of which size you choose, you will find that the Sort Trays in all
our Jigsorts are made to fit snugly into the Construction Board and by so doing
all the jigsaw pieces are kept firmly in place. The whole assembly can then be
zipped up inside the attractive carrying case and in this condition partly
completed jigsaws can be safely stored or transported elsewhere for use in the
future. Please note that because of the large size of the Jigsort 1500 a certain
amount of piece slippage may occur until approximately 50% of the jigsaw has
been completed.
The purchase of a jigsaw case is a substantial investment and one that you
would expect to be a part of your home for many years. If you are comparing
Jigsort with other jigsaw carriers or puzzle holders then you might like to
consider the following questions:
1.Does the puzzle holder or carrier contain a separate Construction
Board (like Jigsort) or do jigsaws have to be made in the outer case
itself? Remember that if the puzzles have to be made in the outer case
then it will be MUCH more cumbersome when in use.
2.Does the puzzle holder/carrier have separate trays for unassembled
pieces (like Jigsort) and if so do the trays have lids and raised edges
to prevent losing pieces?
3.Does the jigsaw holder or carrier zip up (like the Jigsort case) or
does it merely have Velcro attachments? Remember that a zip is the best
way of ensuring that pieces don't get lost.
4.Are the construction surfaces of the jigsaw holder or carrier all
covered in a special soft fabric (like Jigsort)?
5.Does the outer case of the jigsaw holder/carrier look durable enough
to last for many years (like the Jigsort case)?
6.Does the carrying handle of the holder or carrier form an integral
part of the case (like Jigsort) or is it just glued or riveted on?
Remember that over the years the most vulnerable part of any jigsaw case
is its handle. We have NEVER seen a Jigsort with a damaged handle!
7.Does the puzzle case have the style, elegance and proven track
record of Jigsort?
Jigcases - The Lightweight Alternative to Jigsorts
Jigsorts are adored by puzzle enthusiasts because they are designed to last a lifetime and they look so stylish; unfortunately this means that they are relatively heavy and the cost of production is high.
To cater for enthusiasts who are looking for a case that is both lighter and less expensive we have introduced the Jigcase. This is a quality product made for us in the U.K. and it comes in two different sizes as follows:
Jigcase 1000: Jigsaw puzzle holder for 1,000 pieces.
For most jigsaws up to 1000 pieces - 700mm x 500mm (27.5" x 19.5")
Jigcase 2000: Jigsaw puzzle holder for 2,000 pieces.
For most jigsaws up to 2,000 pieces - 1000mm x 700mm (39" x 27.5")
When using Jigcases the puzzles are constructed in the case itself. The 1000 model opens out like a folder and the puzzles are made on one side of this. The 2000 model comes in two separate parts because it is too large to open out like a folder. With both models the pieces are kept in place when the “Base” and the “Lid” are secured together by Velcro fastenings.
The Jigcase 2000 is the only product in our range that caters for jigsaws of 2,000 pieces and therefore it is ideal for enthusiasts who have a passion for very large puzzles. Despite its size it only weighs 4.3 kilos (9.5 lbs) and therefore it is still lighter than then Jigsort 1500 which weighs 8.7 kilos (19 lbs).
